What to do if Security locked out your machine?

In most cases when your machine is locked out it must be formatted. (Formatting involves wiping the hard drive of all data, programs, and the operating system.) If a format is required, you must bring the computer to the Residence Hall Network Help Desk in Dobbins Hall. The Help Desk will backup any data you would like saved and then reinstall Windows, Symantec, Updates, and spyware protection tools. (It will be your responsibility to install any other application programs that were lost in the format process). After this procedure is complete, a request will be placed with U.P's Security Office to restore your internet connection.

When you drop-off your computer, please bring any driver disks that you might have and the power supply if its a laptop.
